Recent years have seen the emergence of GCC economies as the “Arabian Tigers”, however, the greatest challenge remains direct access to the region’s capital markets by foreigners. Mutual funds targeting regional capital markets such as the SHUAA Asset Management funds series are at present the best route for foreign investors to gain exposure to the region while remaining suitably diversified.

Our Funds

Our range of unbundled investment products targets equity and debt capital markets as well as regional structured products.  We provide both Conventional and Shariah Compliant investment solutions.

SHUAA Asset Management manages the Gateway series - 6 long only funds with the objective of generating alpha through a blend of top down strategic allocation for country and sector themes and bottom up stock selection for tactical allocations.

Arab Gateway Fund is an open-ended fund giving both regional and international investors access to  fifteen Arab equity markets including the GCC. Arab Gateway Fund is our flagship product. 

Emirates Gateway Fund, and Saudi Gateway Fund are open-ended single country equity funds giving regional and international investors access to their respective capital markets. SHUAA Asset Management also acts as Fund Manager to Qatar Gate Fund which provides access to the Qatari capital market.

We are currently building track record in portfolios which are already incubated in the Absolute Return and Alternative investment categories and intend to develop in house funds utilizing beta and enhanced alpha. SHUAA Asset Management can offer access to Private Equity, Real-estate and infrastructure products through other divisions of SHUAA Capital.

SHUAA Asset Management funds are available for direct investment or via a network of regional and international distributors. 

Distributors receive ongoing training to develop their knowledge of the Middle Eastern markets so that they in turn can provide a holistic service to their clients, no matter where they are located in the world. Our asset management team provides fund and market data and presentations to assist in road shows and seminars and can be requested to attend larger events to speak to both clients and prospective investors.

Clients and distributors will have access to their portfolios online and they also receive a monthly fact sheet and update on their investments.  In addition, our MENA strategist issues a semi-annual Strategy Note giving our view of the MENA markets.
